LIFT AS WE CLIMB FOUNDATION CORPORATION
To ensure that veterans can remain stably housed and rebuild their lives by connecting them to affordable housing, essential resources, and supportive services.
Our Focus for Uniting Our Veterans & Building Stronger Communities
what you need to know
Veteran homelessness has fallen nationwide, but Atlanta still faces serious challenges. In Georgia, 646 veterans were homeless in 2024, with Atlanta holding a big share, about 15% of the city’s homeless population, compared to the 11% national average.
High housing costs are a major barrier. 24.1% of Georgia veterans struggle with housing issues like high rent, poor conditions, or overcrowding. Home prices in Atlanta have jumped 55% since 2019, making it even harder for veterans on fixed incomes to find a place to live. Mental health struggles and lack of support can make the problem worse.
There’s progress! Veteran homelessness in Georgia dropped 7.85% from 2023 to 2024. Groups like HOPE Atlanta provide rent help, rapid re-housing, and other services, while projects like the upcoming “Veterans Village” near Atlanta will offer long-term supportive housing.
Our goal is simple:
prevent homelessness and provide dignity, stability, and hope for those who served.
